Wednesday I was contacted by the HR rep here at work and was told that I was one of 9 top performers that were selected to interview for another temp. assignment here at Vanguard. Thursday I interviewed with two people from another department here at Vanguard and was told that job offers would be extended today. I anxiously waited to here the news, good or bad.
I got an email from the HR rep asking me to come and meet with her. I arrived at the HR lobby and found two friends of mine from my team. We sat and chatted for a while until the rep arrived. She took us into a room and extended a job offer to us.
I start Monday and will work for two weeks at the same pay and schedule. After two weeks I will work a 7:30 am - 4:00pm shift (traffic is going to suck!) at 45 cents less pay. It is still just a temporary job and was told that they anticipate the contract extending through May (but this contract was intended to go through April so who knows!?!).
I am glad that I will not have to go even one day with out a job but was looking forward to some time with the little guy and hoped to finish the last few details on the basement.
