The Filling in of Boyle's Pond.
Have you ever wondered what 15 tons of fill dirt looked like? I did but now I know all to well.
Being the restless guy that I am I figured no there's better way to spend MLK Day then to shovel some dirt. So I got online and found someone willing to deliver a dump-truck load of dirt in-front of my house.
Having received notices from my HOA for having gravel fall from my front yard onto the road I came to the obvious conclusion that they would not like the idea of 15 tons of dirt being there for too long.
In a little more than six hours and a lunch break Quentin, Felicia, Maria, Karen and I managed to shovel and haul all the dirt to the back yard.
Having now seen what 15 tons of dirt looks like (and feels like... my back, hands and arms are killing me) I hope to never see it again!

HAHAHA! That is hilarious!! I'm sorry, but that's one of the reasons we hate HOA's and why we live in such an old neighborhood. You should see our front yard: WHAT A DISASTER!! But you know what, as long as we keep our weeds under nine inches high no one complains. It's too bad you got all that dirt. My husband was planning on finding a load of dirt this week to fill in our back yard too (between two big dogs and the gophers it's practically a mine field!) but you beat us to it.
That is a lot of work. You have good friends and family to help you out. HOA's are a pain. As long as our neighbor's do not complain, ours leaves us alone. Well, that and the fat check they demand every year.
