Day Trip

Saturday Maria and I decided to get out of the house and do something fun and cheap. We loaded up the boy and went to Tortilla Flat and Canyon Lake for the day. Last time I went to Tortilla Flat the place was dead. We were the only people there and had full run of the place including the ladies room. Saturday, though, was a mad house! There were so many people and so much going on. I wanted to try the "World Famous Chili" but there was a 45 minute wait for a table! We left shortly after arriving and went up to the Lake Side Cafe near the Dolly Steamboat and had a good (but less than "World Famous") lunch there.

You can see in the photos (that were taken with our wonderful pocket sized digital camera - thanks Aunt Ogie!) that we had a good time. The weather was great and Davis was so good the entire day. You can see that Davis had a costume change at some point during the day... that is because he managed to fill his diaper to capacity then some!

LOL I love the way you write. I've been getting the hankerin to do a short, but fun day trip like that, just to get out and enjoy! Looks like for the most part besides missing the famous chili and the costume change that it was good adventure!

You are more then welcome and it is little treats like this that just make my day. Thank you for sharing and I am really surprised that you are only dealing with one costume change on an outting. I remember well some of you, no names mentioned that would have to have a couple complete costume changes along with those of us attempting to make the change!! Love ya.

What a fun day. Davis looks so sweet asleep in his car seat. It is great you are making memories as a family. I love remembering little things we did with our children.

I was thinking the pictures were so cute, then I clicked on it, and there is my sweet little great nephew in a toilet with Jackass written on it. What in the world! Well, it made me laugh. The picture of Maria with Davis, was such a contented mother picture. I love it.
