Late night chores.

Lately I have been feeling so bad for Maria. She wants to be up when I get home at nine and she almost always has dinner ready for me. She then goes to bed about 10-10:30 and has to get up at 5:00am to feed Davis and to get ready for work. At best she is only ever getting seven hours of sleep a night and with Davis some nights can be rather restless. My work schedule allows me to sleep in until about eight so most nights I am getting TEN hours of sleep!! I decided a few days ago to make things more fair I was going to begin getting up in the mornings with her.

While she feeds Davis we read the scriptures and then eat breakfast. Maria showers and I watch the news and put Davis back down for a couple hours. Maria leaves for work and I always plan to clean the house or do laundry for the few hours before Davis wakes again. The reality is though that Maria leaves and I crash again.

Having our time stretched thin almost always many house chores have gotten neglected. I decided tonight that I would put Maria and Davis both to bed and I would stay up late and get the chores done.

I have been busy at it for the last three hours and have done 4 loads of laundry (washed, dried and folded), cleaned both bathrooms, our bedroom, the living room, and kitchen. I have filled and taken out four bags of trash (one entirely soiled diapers from around the house... I told you we had been neglecting the chores).

Needless to say I am tired and ready for bed.

My reasons for writing this are:

1) Proof that I help out around the house.

2) To publicly humiliate us for how bad we let our house get in hopes that we wont let it happen again

3) To again publicly thank Maria for all that she does. She is such an amazing mother and wife and is always willing to put me and Davis before her self. It has been hard for her the last three weeks to leave her baby and home to go to work and she wants nothing more than to be able to stay home. She realizes though that this is for but a short time and that soon her prayers will be answered.

Babe,

I got up this morning and shed a tear at our beautiful house. You were so tired that when I came to to put Davis down after feeding him this morning you were sleep talking. Something about wedging something???!!! You did such a great job with the house and was especially impressed with the clean toilets! When I was reading the scriptures to Davis this morning I could feel the spirit stronger in our clean house. Thank you for your help and for all you do. I love you!

I know how hard it is to leave a child and go to work. Jake, what you did is the best surprize. Thankyou for taking such good care of my sweet niece. You are my hero today!
